Sustainable Materials

ALL ABOUT OUR MATERIALS

Here’s a special read for everyone interested in the materials we use. Since starting a lot of things have changed, but one thing definitely remained the same: every time someone touches our clothes, they are super surprised at the softness of the fabrics. Here’s what that’s all about - we work with two main materials for all our products; organic cotton and lyocell. Here’s why these materials are so unique.

ORGANIC COTTON

A lot of brands already work with organic materials. We work with organic cotton, reducing the amount of pesticides needed in its production resulting in a stronger material which is also safer grown for the environment and its ecosystem.

The organic cotton fabrics we use have also been pre washed. This means the fit of the product remains permanently stable from the time you try it on in store to it´s multiple washes.

Carbonised Cotton
To go a level up, we work with carbonised organic cotton. What does that mean? Once the cotton fabric is created, the material is run through a machine which creates micro scratched in the fiber. Basically, the fabric is softened and “worn in” before any products are made from it. This means that from the second you wear it, you have instant comfort!

Brushed Cotton

In the 2023 summer collection, for the first time, in several products, we used brushed organic cotton. This preparation of the textile makes it even more soft than the carbonised cotton enhancing the level of comfort and durability.

LYOCELL

Lyocell is an up and coming fabric that we’ve been working with for some time now. You can take a deep dive into this innovative fabric though in our lyocell blog. Here’s what we love about it: it’s the perfect fabric for adventure! That’s why all of our products that have the “adventure fit” are made with Lyocell. The material has similar characteristics to merino wool which is a go-to for most people active in the mountains, be it on bikes, skis, boards or by foot. The difference to Lyocell in comparison to merino is that it doesn´t itch and it´s cheaper. The material keeps you warm when its cool and cool when its warm. It’s density makes it so that it dries quickly and leaves almost no odour when you’ve had a good sweat. Also super soft to the touch - it’s the perfect fabric for t-shirts and long sleeve with style and functionality.

DOWN TO THE DETAILS

Our promise and desire to work with natural and sustainable materials doesn’t stop at the fabrics we use, but continues down to the design details. Our summer 2023 collection beach cord corduroy shirt will have buttons made of recycled paper and our new creek shirt flannel will have buttons made of Corzo.

Corzo is a natural material made from the naturally fallen seeds of the Corzo palm tree which creates a non-toxic and biodegradable alternative to plastic materials otherwise used within the fashion industry.

WE CARE FOR NATURE, WE CARE FOR YOU

Sustainability is one of the core pillars in what we stand for. The materials we use are not only kinder and considerate to mother nature but also create products which are healthier and more comfortable to wear. Live it. Wear it. Share it.
