There are countless clothing brands from all over the world on sale. But this brand is not only created but also sold in Ruswil: it´s called "Whatever Man - Lifestyle".

"Ideas often come while you´re on holidays, and when you have time," laughs Jannis Geisseler. The "Whatever Man - Lifestyle" concept turned into a concrete brand during our free time. The brand was founded in 2014 after Micha Kunz (1993), Jannis Geisseler (1992) and Ivo Schmidli (1991) from Ruswil enjoyed a snowboarding road trip with a group of friends across Canada and America. In the meantime, Ivo Schmidli has left the brand and handed over his roles to his younger brother Ueli Schmidli (1995).

"Whatever Man - Lifestyle, was borin in the famouns ski resort of Whistler and is a brand for people who enjoy the lifestyle. It stands for enjoying an exciting time outdoors with friends. Especially in the mountain world, away from the intense daily routine, relaxing and at the same time engaging in motivating experiences that shape the lifestyle of Whatever Man. In the same year, we founded the company with home-base in Ruswil (Chrummenacher)," says Jannis Geisseler. The brand appeals primarily to the younger generation. Jannis Geisseler: "We have products for women and men, mainly people up to 40 years old wear our brand. But the older generation is also inspired by our items." The range includes: beanies, caps, hoodies, shirts, bags, water bottles and neckwarmers."

"The starting point of every garment is always here," as Jannis Geisseler confirmed: "The idea is born here in Ruswil. I design and sketch everything out and put the concept onto paper. The designs are inspired by shared experiences, which is what our lifestyle is all about. Then the proposals are discussed in the team and the idea is adapted to our wishes."

The processed materials are produced sustainably and only organic materials are used where possible. "This is our personal demand on the high quality and longevity of our products. This is only one part of our efforts in providing a sustainable fashion offering."

The production site is located near Porto in Portugal. Jannis Geisseler: "We are in close contact with the producers and have already been invited to visit the clothing manufacturers first-hand."

And where can you get the "Whatever Man - Lifestyle" brand? Jannis Geisseler: "We distribute the products via our website www.whateverman.ch or through 12 shops, mainly in the city of Lucerne and in various winter sports areas. That's the best advertising for us." Is it also an issue to make the brand known abroad? "It would be nice and a wish if 'Whatever Man - Lifestyle' was also worn abroad. But we are now concentrating on German-speaking Switzerland." Jannis Geisseler's statement is understandable, because the people from Ruswil do it as a hobby and all pursue a profession or study. Jannis Geisseler: "We are a super team and complement each other perfectly." Micha Kunz, who works in an IT company, sees himself as an organisational talent, Jannis Geisseler, the HSLU architecture student, is the artist and designer and Ueli Schmidli, who earns his living as a carpenter, is responsible for social media and shipping.
